Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest.
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel this morning after breakfast and take you to Nyungwe Forest. One of the biggest woods in East and Central Africa is Nyungwe Forest. There are many different kinds of plants and animals in the forest, such as thirteen different species of primates, such as chimpanzees, blue monkeys, mangabeys, and colobus monkeys. For birdwatchers, Nyungwe Forest is a well-known destination. Approximately 310 bird species have been documented, 26 of which are endemic, making this one of Africa’s most significant and little-known bird-watching locations.
Accommodation: One and Only Nyungwe House.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe.
You will head to the Uwinka or Cyamudongo sections of the chimpanzee tracking trail today after an early breakfast. There are a robust 80 people in total across the two groups. You won’t soon forget this thrilling up-close encounter with the closest relative of humans. You can unwind at the hotel or select an optional activity that you can discuss with your guide after the chimp tracking.
You can do the only canopy walk in East Africa in the afternoon. This hike passes over a huge valley that slashes through the enormous woodland. The hike, which lasts for approximately two hours, passes through some lovely plant and animal environments. You might be able to see unusual birds that live in the highest reaches of the forest canopy as well as blue monkeys along the way.
Accommodation: One and Only Nyungwe House.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu.
You can take in the lovely views from your lodge this morning. You will go to Kibuye, which is located on Lake Kivu’s eastern bank, after lunch. If you have time, you should go to the Ndaba Falls or stroll through Kibuye town. You can rent a boat and visit a few islands in the afternoon. Today’s activities are all at your own expense.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
After heavy breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National park, home to mountain gorillas.
Accommodation: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 6: Gorilla Tracking – Iby’iwacu Cultural Tour
You are going to drive into the park office this morning after breakfast. You will be divided into groups by the ORTPN head ranger according to your fitness and areas of interest. From this point on, your driver/guide will get you as near to the tracking’s beginning as feasible. One of the habituated gorilla groups will be tracked by you. It can take as little as 30 minutes to as much as 8 hours to monitor the gorillas. You will travel an adventurous route through bamboo, shrubs, and intertwined vines as you approach the gorillas’ present site through forested slopes.
Your guide will point out evidence of past gorilla activity, such as chewed bamboo stalks, nests, and excrement. After the gorillas are discovered, you will have no more than an hour to spend with them. Meeting a mountain gorilla in person is an emotional and humbling experience. This is an amazing and unique chance to interact closely and privately with Rwanda’s very own “Gorillas in the Mist.”
You will visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village in the afternoon. This non-profit umbrella group works to enhance the quality of life for former poachers and the local communities surrounding Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park by offering conservation incentives, fostering the growth of local businesses, and funding livelihood-based initiatives.
It gives visitors experiences that go beyond seeing wildlife. It has altered the conventional views of tourism in Rwanda as well as given travelers, rural communities, and tour operators a fresh knowledge of the industry.
Accommodation: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.
Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking – Return to Kigali – Departure
You will be taken to the park headquarters for golden monkey tracking, which is an entirely different but equally gratifying experience, after breakfast. These stunning, animated beings, which are listed as endangered, are amazing to see as they leap through the foliage. You will thereafter make your way back to the airport in Kigali for your trip home.
