The 7 Days Best of Rwanda Wildlife Safari transports you to amazing discoveries such as seeing Rwanda’s thirteen primate species, which account for 20–25% of all primates in Africa; tracking chimpanzees in Nyungwe forests; and experiencing the most exhilarating gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, which can be challenging but rewarding. Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport.
On arrival you will be picked from the airport by our company representative who will transfer you to the lodge in Kigali. Meal Plan: Dinner.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
After grabbing your morning coffee, head to Nyungwe Forest, one of Rwanda’s most significant locations for bird watching, with over 280 species reported, the bulk of which are forest specialists and 26 of which are regional endemics. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest.
Have breakfast go for chimp trekking, during trekking you might spot primates like the colobus monkeys plus viewing other inhabitants of the forest like birds and butterflies, return to the lodge for late lunch. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Prepare breakfast in advance and head to Volcanoes National Park for a guided nature walk in the forest to observe a range of animals and some of the region’s 300 bird species. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.
After eating breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters to meet the tour guides. You will start trekking as soon as the briefing is over. The walk can be difficult and time-consuming, requiring two to eight hours to complete. Return to your accommodation for total relaxation after the trip. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu
You will have breakfast and drive to Lake Kivu ready for a sunset boat ride on the lake, in the evening you relax on the shores of the lake. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7: Transfer to Kigali City – Departure.
Prepare for a journey to see Kigali city, which includes the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi, after enjoying your cup of coffee from Africa. The primary points of attraction in Kigali City include the vibrant markets, memorials to the genocide, and artisan centres. After lunch, make your way to Kigali Airport in preparation for your departure. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch.
