Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Our driver/guide will meet you at the Kigali International Airport and give you an overview of the 4-day gorilla trekking tour in Rwanda. After that, you’ll drive for two hours to Volcanoes National Park, which is located in Ruhengeri, Musanze district. Rwanda is known as the “land of a thousand hills” for its undulating hills and verdant countryside vistas, which are breathtakingly seen on the way to Volcanoes National Park. You’ll get to the lodge in time for dinner and your overnight stay. Meal Plan: (Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience.
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, you will receive a packed lunch. Next, our driver/guide will take you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters, where park rangers will give you a pre-trek briefing before you start your gorilla trekking experience in the bush. After going over all the dos and don’ts of tracking mountain gorillas, the park rangers will pair you with a gorilla family and guide(s) to head into the bush and look for the gorillas. You will have up to an hour with the mountain gorillas after you find them, during which you can capture pictures of them as they walk around. You will emerge from the forest and make your way back to the beginning after the hour has passed. Depending on how the mountain gorillas move and where they slept the night before, tracking them may take some time. There is a range of 30 minutes to 6 hours. You’ll be returned to the lodge. Unwind at the lodge during the day as you think back on your tracking experience and get ready for your second gorilla tracking excursion the next day. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Experience.
You will get another chance to monitor mountain gorillas today. Before starting your gorilla trekking in the bush, you will be given a pre-trek briefing by park rangers at Volcanoes National Park headquarters after eating an early breakfast at the lodge and receiving a packed lunch. Similar to the day before, park rangers will go over all the dos and don’ts of tracking mountain gorillas with you. They will also assign you to a gorilla family and guides who will help you find the gorillas in the jungle. You will have up to an hour with the mountain gorillas after you find them, during which you can continue taking pictures of them as they climb and descend. You will visit Iby’Iwachu Cultural Village in the afternoon, where you will be entertained by cultural artists and learn more about the intriguing culture of Rwanda. After that, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and a night.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kigali – Kigali City Tour – Airport Transfer.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will travel back to Kigali City for two hours, taking in the breathtaking sights of the lush, hilly terrain that will make you feel as though you are truly in Africa. You will be given a tour of Kigali City after you arrive. The Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Inema Arts Centre, Kimironko Market, and Kaplaki Craft Village are just a few of the places you might want to see. Don’t forget to purchase a few mementos for yourself to bring back home. After lunch in Kigali, you will be driven to Kigali International Airport in time for your flight to return home.
