Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After giving you an overview of the specifics of your three-day safari upon arrival, your driver guide will take you to Volcanoes National Park, which is 80 kilometres (about two hours’ drive) from Kigali. In the unlikely event that you arrive in Kigali early, you will be treated to a private city tour that includes stops at the National Museum and the Genocide Memorial Centre. After lunch, you will head to the park in the afternoon.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After a delicious early breakfast, the driving guide will drive you to the beefing headquarters in the park by 8 a.m. Later, start the incredible journey of tracking gorillas; most of the time, this activity involves some level of physical fitness from the hikers. Trekkers are allowed to spend one hour with the gorillas, and the duration of the journey varies from one to six hours on multiple times. Among other things, it’s a truly pleasant experience to watch them play and protect one another. Hikers can expect to observe birds, elephants, buffaloes, and golden monkeys among other creatures when trekking.
Following your gorilla trekking adventure, you will be escorted back to the resort where you can unwind in the afternoon at your lodge, eat lunch, and choose to visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, stroll around the village and see the residents perform traditional dances.

Day 3: Return to Kigali – Departure
Before you leave the resort, get up early and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Following that, your driver guide will take you to Kigali, where you will get a brief opportunity to shop at the local markets and pick up trinkets. In the unlikely event that you have time, you could also stop by the Franco-Rwandan Cultural Centre and the Pottery Project. After enjoying lunch, head to the airport to board your flight home.
