6 Days Masai Mara National Park Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Travel to Lake Naivasha

You will go to Lake Naivasha, a sizable freshwater lake that is a part of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, today on your traditional Kenya safari. Many different kinds of birds can be seen there, such as the well-known African Fish Eagle and a sizable population of African Hippos. Savour high tea at Joy Adamson’s renowned Elsamere farm in the afternoon. Adamson gained notoriety for penning the book “Born free,” which is about rearing a cub. Her house is now a conservation centre with an emphasis on raising environmental awareness and lake ecology. After that, you can take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and see wildlife on the borders of Africa.

Day 2: Pink Flamingos at Lake Nakuru

As part of your Kenya safari, your safari guide will take you on a day trip to the stunning Lake Nakuru National Park today. This park is well-known for having an abundance of rhinos and thousands of beautiful flamingos. You leave for Lake Nakuru early in the morning and travel across the Great Rift Valley for about two hours.

One of Kenya’s smallest national parks, Lake Nakuru is arguably the most stunning. Numerous species of fauna, such as thousands of smaller and larger flamingos and numerous rhinoceros, can be found there in abundance. See many different species, including zebras, impalas, waterbucks, lions, and buffalo, as well as the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Make a stop for a delicious picnic lunch in a shaded area. You will then return to your Kenya safari lodging for a delightful afternoon tea on the lawn with a view of Lake Naivasha, complete with cakes.

Day 3: Fly to the Masai Mara

You will travel from Lake Naivasha to the Masai Mara, which is renowned for its vast plains, this morning after breakfast. This brief flight offers views of the Masai Mara’s lush terrain. You will be welcomed and guided to your tented Masai Mara lodging, which is tucked away in the woodland by the banks of the Mara River, as soon as you arrive at the airstrip. During your afternoon wildlife drive, there will be excellent chances to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. Enjoy pre-dinner cocktails by the crackling bonfire, then settle down for a candlelit supper before heading to your tented lodging.

Day 4 – 5: Explore Masai Mara National Park

Go to the Masai Mara for the next two days. Take morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve, and go on safari. As you traverse the expansive plains, you’ll witness herds of grazing animals, lion prides, and maybe even a leopard relaxing in a tree. See the recognisable Maasai herders of Kenya in the afternoon as you visit a nearby homestead. Their cattle are the centre of their existence, and they are always moving in quest of new pastures.

An optional bonus is the opportunity to go hot air ballooning. You set out on a whole new kind of animal viewing experience in the Masai Mara while suspended in a basket amid the vibrant canopy. Savour the tranquilly while you soar over the Masai Mara’s plains, bush, and rivers. Enjoy a champagne breakfast to celebrate your return to Earth.

Day 6: Return to Nairobi – Departure

You will wake up early on the last day of your traditional Kenya safari and go on one more game drive. See the bush veldt come to life as the sun rises, and explore the wildlife activity of the previous evening by tracking spoor, following bush paths, and maybe even seeing the remnants of a midnight kill. You will return by plane to Nairobi, the capital, leaving the well-known plains behind.
