Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrival – Kigali Airport.

At Kigali International Airport, after passing immigration, proceed to arrivals where your driver guide for the 6-day Helicopter Tour of Rwanda will greet you and drive you to your overnight accommodation.

Accommodation: The Retreat by Heaven, Onomo Hotel Kigali.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2:  Helicopter Flight From Kigali To Akagera National Park

Following your hotel breakfast, you will be driven to Kigali International Airport to board a helicopter for your helicopter journey to Akagera National Park. Once there, you will be met by your driving guide for the 6-day Akagera Nyungwe Rwanda Tour, who will then transport you to your lodge so you can check in. You will rest at the lodge after lunch, and then go on a game drive in the evening.

Accommodation: Magashi Camp, Ruzizi Tented Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3:  Full Day in Akagera National Park

After breakfast on this day, you’ll take a boat ride on Lake Ihema and get to see an island home to a variety of bird species. You’ll have a game drive in the park after lunch. Dinner and lodging at the lodge are included.

Day 4: Helicopter Flight From Akagera To Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, enjoy a helicopter journey to Nyungwe National Park after that. Your driving guide for the 6-day Akagera Nyungwe Rwanda Tour will meet you there and take you to the resort. Included are lunch, dinner, and hotel accommodations at the lodge.

Day 5:  Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Experience.

You will leave the resort on this day with a packed breakfast, travel to the park headquarters for an orientation, and then make your way to the forest’s entry points. You will witness a range of bird species and primates on your walk. For an hour, you will be able to spend time with the chimpanzees and observe them going about their daily lives. After that, you head back to the resort for lunch and relaxation. You will head back to the park headquarters for the canopy walk briefing in the afternoon. Experience the canopy walkway, the only one of its kind in East Africa, for a breathtaking view of the forest.

Day 6:  Helicopter Flight From Nyungwe Forest National Park To Kigali.

After enjoying breakfast at the lodge and checking out, you will head to Kigali International Airport by helicopter to board your international flight for departure.
