Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Arusha
You will be greeted and taken to your lodge upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind and take in the surroundings. You can spend time in the hotel’s outdoor pool or walk the ten minutes or so into town.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Proceed to the stunning Tarangire National Park after breakfast. Have lunch before embarking on an exciting afternoon wildlife drive around the park to see elephants, rhinos, zebras, wildebeest, and more. Before you head back to the resort for dinner and an overnight stay, make sure to take pictures of the unusual Baobab Trees.
Day 3: Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater
Head for Lake Manyara with plenty of amazing vistas along the way after an early-morning wildlife drive in Tarangire. Take a game drive in the afternoon and stop halfway for a picnic lunch inside the park. A 600-meter-tall escarpment forms the base of Lake Manyara National Park, which is home to baboons, flamingos, hippopotamuses, and the elusive tree-climbing lion. Proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater afterward, and you might arrive in time to see the breathtaking sunset before supper.
Day 4: Full Day in Ngorongoro Crater
For a full day of game viewing, head down into the Crater this morning with a picnic lunch. With one of Africa’s greatest lion concentrations, you have a great chance of seeing not just the “king of cats,” but also black rhinos, hippopotamuses, zebras, and many other species. This is all taking place against the breathtaking backdrop that makes this one of Africa’s top game viewing locations and one of the world’s seven natural wonders.
Day 5: Return to Arusha – Departure
Today is the last day of your experience as you travel to Arusha. If time permits, you’ll enjoy lunch before your next flight. You might want to travel on to Zanzibar for a few days of beachside relaxation.
