The Masai Mara is the best and most exceptional wildlife sanctuary in Kenya, with gently rolling grasslands that guarantee you may always see animals. The year-round weather is mild, seldom excessively hot, and has evenly distributed rainfall. Unmatched is the experience of witnessing the massive wildebeest migration from July to October. The Reserve’s borders are by no means the only ones that the wildlife is in; an even greater region lies outside the game Reserve. The Masai people and wildlife coexist together in an almost symbiotic connection as a result of centuries of close contact. This Game Park is stunning at first glance. This wildlife wonder is unmatched anywhere else in the world. The Masai Mara National Reserve is the most well-liked inland destination in Kenya because of its wonderful scenery, abundant animals, and mild climate. For those who want to experience sleeping under canvas in opulent surroundings, there are a number of top tented camps in the Mara to choose from.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Travel to Masai Mara
Depart from your Nairobi hotel for the Masai Mara Game reserve stopping at the view-point of the great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara
After waking up to a cup of tea or coffee, go for an early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast, head back to the resort or campsite and go on another game drive. The sighting of rhinos and leopards, which complete the big five, is not assured due to their scarcity, shyness, and elusiveness. However, the elephant, buffalo, and lion are the only three of the big five that can be observed. After lunch at the resort, there will be a free period during which you can, for an additional fee, visit a nearby Masai community. Take a game drive in the late afternoon or early evening to cap off the day before going back to the lodge for supper and the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru , picnic lunch enroute. Mt Longonot and lake Naivasha can be seen from afar on the main highway. Have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, have a game drive in the neighbouring Lake Nakuru National Park, home to a diverse range of avian species such as white pelicans, marabu storks, and flamingos, all of which nest in the lake’s alkaline waters. It’s possible to see white rhinos and the unusual Rothschild’s giraffe, which has clear shanks rather than spots and five horns instead of the typical three. A trip to the baboon cliff provides a beautiful view of the lake below, which is encircled by a sizable area of acacia and euphorbia woodland. Another highlight in the park is the Makalia Falls. Drive to Lake Naivasha for dinner and an overnight stay at the resort after lunch.
Day 5: Return to Nairobi
Take a boat trip to the Crescent Island Private Game Sanctuary after breakfast, where you may stroll among small herds of plain game. After lunch in Naivasha, travel to Nairobi, where you will arrive in the evening. Drop off at your hotel.
