Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Gisenyi
When you arrive, a representative from our company will greet you and give you an overview of the 5 Days Gorilla Tracking and Nyiragongo Hiking Tour. You will then be driven through picturesque Rwandan villages, passing by tea plantations and undulating hills, before arriving at the Lake Kivu shoreline for dinner and an overnight stay.
Accommodation: Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibumba in the DRC
You will drive to Kibumba after eating breakfast early in the morning. Make a lunch stop along the way, then continue on to the resort, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After eating an early breakfast and making your way to the park headquarters for the pre-trek briefing, you will begin the activity under the guidance of a ranger guide. After spending around an hour observing and taking pictures of the gorillas, you will return for lunch and a laid-back evening, or you may decide to go for a stroll in the evening.

Day 4: Nyiragongo Volcano Hiking
You will drive to the park centre for a briefing before beginning your trekking trip after eating breakfast early in the morning. After getting to the tracking site, meet up with other hikers and begin the trek at around 10:00 am. Hiking takes about six hours, depending on how quickly the person ahead of you moves. You can spend the night at the peak and witness the lava flowing from an active volcano.
Day 5: Descend Nyirangongo – Return to Kigali
Descend the volcano and meet up with your tour guide who will transfer you to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
