Day 2: Transfer to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast at your accommodation, you and your Wildlife Safari guide will head towards Namanga in your 4WD vehicle. Come to Amboseli National Park, where Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, serves as the backdrop. Enjoy the breathtaking surroundings as you start your game viewing journey to Elewana Tortillis Camp Amboseli. After you’ve settled up, go for a game drive in the afternoon and return about dusk so you have time to change before dinner.
Day 3: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
A full day safari in the Amboseli National Park awaits you as you wake up for an early breakfast. Savour a picnic lunch while admiring the expansive views of the park. Observe the relationships amongst the vast family herds of elephants. During your African safari vacation, keep an eye out for lions stalking their prey. Climb Observation Hill for sweeping views of the entire park. In the late afternoon, head back to the camp for a delicious dinner and well-earned sundowners.
Day 4: Fly to Laikipia
After a satisfying breakfast, head to the airstrip in Nairobi to catch your aircraft to Laikipia. As you take in your breathtaking surroundings, you will be greeted upon landing at Mugie airfield and taken to Governors’ Mugie House. After settling in, take an afternoon game drive in this stunning region, which is home to a variety of animals including the northern unique Grevy Zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Reticulate Giraffe, and Gerenuk. Make your way back to Governors’ Mugie House in time to change for dinner.
Day 5: Full Day in Laikipia
Get up early to go on a morning wildlife drive and explore the region from the dam to the olive trees and acacia-dotted terrain of Laikipia. You will have the rest of the day to yourselves after lunch at Mugie House. During your late afternoon game drive, observe the waterhole and its guests, cool off in the pool, then head out to see the sunset. Come back to the camp to enjoy a cosy fire and dinner.
Day 6: Transfer to the Great Rift Valley
After eating breakfast, travel to the Great Rift Valley, which is home to some of the world’s oldest, biggest, and deepest lakes as well as geysers, volcanoes, and hot springs. Flamingo flocks congregate around the shores of the alkaline shallow soda lakes to feed and reproduce. One of the two freshwater lakes on the rift, Lake Naivasha, is the location of Governors’ Loldia House, which is situated atop a farm. Take it easy and enjoy the views as you unwind during the afternoon. Savour dinner and cap off the day beneath a starry sky.
Day 7: Explore the Great Rift Valley
After breakfast today, you’ll go on a wildlife drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, which is home to over 500 different species of birds and serves as a breeding habitat for the rare Rothschild giraffe, black rhino, and white rhino. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon at the lodge prior to the serving of dinner.
Day 8: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast, drive into the Masai Mara National Reserve by following the floor of the Great Rift Valley. As you arrive at Governors’ Camp, which is gently relaxing in a riverine forest on the banks of the Mara River, you’ll immediately start game viewing, passing herds of animals on the broad savannah plains. After settling into your traditional safari-style tent and getting ready, go on your first wildlife drive. Before wrapping out the day with a roaring campfire, have dinner.
Days 9 & 10: Masai Mara
Enjoy two full days of the best game watching in the Masai Mara while travelling in a 4×4 vehicle. See the sun rising over the grasslands of the savannah and the silhouettes of various animals, including elephants, wildebeests, and giraffes, on the horizon. After lunch and some downtime at the camp, get out to the car for your next game drive, which offers countless opportunities to see a calf being born, a fish eagle calling over the river, or a predator pursuing its meal. You never know what might be hiding in wait. At the camp, savour dinner and spend the evening beneath the wonderful African sky.
Day 11: Return to Nairobi – Departure
Enjoy a last morning game drive on the way to the airstrip where your flight to Wilson Airport will depart from Governors’ Camp after breakfast. You will be met and driven to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by a Wildlife Safari representative in preparation for your next destination.
