2 Days Lake Mburo National Park Luxury Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your professional Gorilla Tour Rwanda driver-guide. You will travel towards western Uganda through beautiful countryside, passing rural communities, rolling hills, farms, and traditional homesteads. Depending on your departure point and schedule, you may stop at the Equator crossing for photographs and a short break. Your guide will share insights into Uganda’s culture, landscapes, and wildlife conservation as you continue towards Lake Mburo National Park.

Upon arrival, you will proceed towards your selected luxury lodge, where you can enjoy lunch and a short period of relaxation before beginning your afternoon wildlife experience. During a guided game drive, you will explore the park’s savannah plains and acacia woodlands in search of Burchell’s zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, giraffes, and warthogs. Lake Mburo is particularly rewarding for observing zebras and impalas, while its varied habitats support numerous other mammals and bird species. Your guide will help you identify wildlife, explain animal behaviour, and select suitable locations for photography.

Depending on your interests and available time, you may choose an optional boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you can look for hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes along the shoreline, and waterbirds. Alternatively, you may enjoy a guided nature walk with an authorised ranger or relax at your lodge while appreciating the surrounding wilderness. Lake Mburo offers several distinctive ways to explore its landscapes, including walking safaris and horseback experiences at selected operators.

In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of Uganda’s savannah country.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Departure

You will wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a final morning wildlife experience in Lake Mburo National Park. The cooler morning conditions provide an excellent opportunity to observe animals as they emerge to feed and move through the savannah. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore selected game tracks in search of zebras, impalas, buffaloes, giraffes, topis, elands, and other wildlife. You will also have opportunities to appreciate the park’s acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and scenic viewpoints while learning more about its ecological importance.

During the excursion, your guide will help you identify animal tracks, explain the relationship between wildlife and the surrounding habitats, and point out interesting bird species. If you prefer a different experience and your schedule permits, you may arrange a guided nature walk with a qualified ranger or a horseback safari through a suitable area. These activities provide a distinctive perspective on Lake Mburo’s wildlife and landscapes, although availability and additional charges should be confirmed in advance.

After your morning activity, you will return to the lodge to collect your belongings and complete check-out. You will then begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe in a comfortable safari vehicle, enjoying the changing countryside along the way.
