Experience the beauty of Uganda’s wilderness on the 4 Days Murchison Falls Luxury Wildlife Safari with Gorilla Tour Rwanda. This exclusive adventure takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, where the River Nile surges through a narrow rocky gorge before plunging into the river below. The safari combines luxurious accommodation, guided game drives, a scenic boat cruise along the Nile, and spectacular views of one of Africa’s most impressive waterfalls.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Your luxury wildlife safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your professional Gorilla Tour Rwanda driver-guide. After a short briefing about the journey, you will travel north-west through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing rural communities, green plantations, roadside markets, and scenic landscapes. You will have opportunities to stop for refreshments, photographs, and brief breaks along the way. If included in your booking, you can visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino-tracking experience, where you can learn about conservation efforts to protect Uganda’s white rhinos.
After lunch, you will continue towards Murchison Falls National Park, travelling through landscapes that gradually change into woodland and savannah. Upon arrival, you will complete the necessary park-entry arrangements and proceed to your luxury lodge. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short game-viewing excursion or relax at the lodge while admiring the surrounding wilderness. The evening offers an opportunity to unwind, enjoy the lodge’s facilities, and listen to the sounds of nature. You will have dinner at the lodge and prepare for an exciting day of wildlife viewing and exploration.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise
You will wake up early and enjoy breakfast before setting out for a guided game drive in the northern savannah plains of Murchison Falls National Park. The early morning hours provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife as animals become active in the cooler conditions. Accompanied by your experienced guide, you will explore established game tracks in search of African elephants, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kob, hartebeests, and warthogs. With some luck, you may also spot lions resting in the grass or searching for prey, while leopards may occasionally be seen in suitable habitats. Your guide will explain the behaviour of the animals and help you understand the park’s diverse ecosystems.
The game drive will also introduce you to the park’s remarkable birdlife, which includes numerous savannah, woodland, and wetland species. You will have time to stop at suitable locations for wildlife photography and to appreciate the expansive landscapes. After the morning excursion, you will return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation before the afternoon activity. You may enjoy the swimming pool, relax on your private veranda, or take in views of the surrounding wilderness, depending on the facilities available at your chosen lodge.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. This scenic journey brings you close to the riverbanks, where you may observe large groups of hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and other wildlife coming to drink. The cruise also provides excellent birdwatching opportunities, with African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and other waterbirds often seen along the river. As the boat approaches the falls, you will witness the Nile forcing its way through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular display of water and mist. After the cruise, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Visit the Top of Murchison Falls and Enjoy a Wildlife Experience
After breakfast, you will set out to explore the spectacular viewpoints around Murchison Falls, one of Uganda’s most remarkable natural attractions. Your guide will take you to the designated access point for the top-of-the-falls experience, where you can walk towards viewpoints overlooking the powerful river. Here, the mighty Nile is forced through a narrow rocky gorge before plunging approximately 43 metres downstream, creating tremendous pressure, roaring water, and clouds of spray. You will have time to observe the dramatic scenery, take photographs, and appreciate the geological forces that have shaped this remarkable landscape.
During your visit, your guide will explain the significance of the falls, the course of the Nile through the park, and the importance of protecting the surrounding ecosystem. The viewpoints offer a different perspective from the previous day’s boat cruise, allowing you to appreciate the power of the water from above. The walking route and time spent at the falls will depend on local conditions and the access arrangements on the day.
After the excursion, you will enjoy lunch and continue with a wildlife-viewing experience suited to your interests and schedule. This may include another game drive through selected savannah tracks, giving you a second opportunity to search for wildlife and observe animals you may have missed earlier. Alternatively, you may choose a guided birdwatching excursion or a relaxed afternoon at your luxury lodge. Murchison Falls National Park supports an impressive range of habitats, from open grasslands to riverine vegetation, making each excursion different. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and your final night in the park.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Departure
You will begin your final day with breakfast at the lodge, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Murchison Falls National Park before departure. Depending on your departure time, you may have an opportunity to take a short morning game drive or enjoy a relaxed morning overlooking the River Nile. If you choose the game drive, your guide will explore nearby wildlife-viewing tracks in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and other animals. Early morning conditions can provide excellent opportunities for photography and observing wildlife before the day becomes warmer.
After the morning activity, you will return to the lodge to collect your belongings and complete the check-out process. Your guide will then begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe in a comfortable safari vehicle. Along the way, you will pass through Uganda’s countryside, with opportunities for refreshments and lunch at an appropriate stop. If you did not visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the first day and have sufficient time, a visit may be arranged as an additional activity, subject to availability and the timing of your onward journey.
Upon arrival in Kampala or Entebbe, your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel, residence, or Entebbe International Airport, depending on your travel arrangements. Gorilla Tour Rwanda can organise additional accommodation or onward transfers if you have a late international flight or wish to extend your stay in Uganda.
